You don't have to
carry this alone.

Reaching out for support is one of the most courageous things a person can do. At Solace, Kate offers a respectful, non-judgmental approach to counselling — viewing every client holistically as a unique individual with the potential for growth and possibilities.

Whether you're navigating grief, relationship challenges, anxiety, trauma, or simply feeling stuck — meaningful change is possible. The counselling relationship exists for your best interests, and all sessions are strictly confidential.

Sessions are available in-person at Yaletown (Vancouver) and Deep Cove (North Vancouver), with virtual counselling available throughout Metro Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and across British Columbia.

Rarely in life will you meet someone that possesses a truly kind soul. Ms. Gates has the knowledge, the understanding and experience that is necessary to assist you along your path to healing.

Women's Issues

A specialized focus on the unique experiences and challenges women face — identity, relationships, self-esteem, life transitions, and more.

Couples Counselling

A neutral space to improve communication, rebuild trust, and rediscover connection. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman's work, and Imago therapy.

Self-Esteem, Relationships & Growth

Work stress, relationship patterns, personal growth — Kate helps you build a life you actually want to live, with tools that go far beyond the therapy room.

A thoughtful
approach
to your care.

Kate integrates multiple evidence-based modalities, selecting the tools that best serve each unique person — not the other way around.

01

AEDP — Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

A powerful approach that focuses on healing through emotional experience. Kate trained directly with Diana Fosha, the founder of AEDP.

02

ACT — Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Helping you accept what's outside your control while committing to action that enriches your life and aligns with your values.

03

CFT — Compassion Focused Therapy

Developed by Dr. Paul Gilbert, CFT is designed to help people who experience high shame, self-criticism, anxiety, or trauma-related distress. The core aim is to develop self-compassion and emotional regulation.

04

Mindfulness & Somatic Therapy

Mind-body integration is central to Kate's practice — using Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Sensorimotor Therapy to support holistic healing.

05

EFT, Gottman & Imago for Couples

For couples, Kate draws on the most respected evidence-based frameworks — Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman's research, and Imago relationship therapy.
