  • Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

  • Former Department Head of Counselling & Disability Services at Vancouver Community College.

  • Former board member of Adler University, Vancouver, B.C.

  • Provides ongoing clinical supervision to several M.A. students in Psychology from UBC, SFU, Adler.

  • Twenty six years of Counselling experience.

  • Established Woman’s Solace Counselling Service in 1996.

Therapeutic Orientations:

Accelerated, experiencial, dynamic therapy (AEDP). Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction-mind/body connection, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Attachment, experiential emotional work including mind/body emphasis.  Some Adlerian and CBT- cognitive behavioural therapy, sensori-motor therapy.  Kate places emphasis on the power of the therapeutic counselling relationship.  Therapeutic orientation for couples counselling includes, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman’s work and Imago therapy.  She also utilizes mindfulness based relaxation techniques, for additional therapeutic results.
